Qatar Police Sports Federation (QPSF) will hold various sports activities for all police and civil staff of the Ministry of Interior on Feb 14, National Sports Day. The Head of Matches and Teams Section at QPSF Major Arif Mohammed Abdul Rahman announced in a press conference that the sports day activities will be held in Suhaim bin Hamad stadium in Qatar Sports Club from 8.30 AM to 11.30 AM on Sports Day.
The activities will include football matches, aerobics, arm-wrestling, races in 100 m, 1000 m for adults and 50 m for children, body fitness competition for those who are above 45 years old, sports activities for people with special needs and recreational activities for children and adults, Major Arif said. He also added that there will be a special area for the children. A team from Medical Services Department will be available on the spot to check the blood pressure and sugar as well trained coaches will guide the participants to practice activities in the right way.
Major Arif also announced that the Police Sports Federation is holding a Futsal league for the first time which will be kicked off on February 7 and will end in May 2012. Eight teams representing various MoI departments will participate in the league.
The Police Federation also announced a MoI Cup Football Championship which will kick off at Al-Sadd Sports Club on March 11, 2011. Eight teams representing various Ministry of Interior departments will participate in the championship and the final match will be held on March 30 with colorful celebration.
Lt. Waleed Ali Mohammed and team representatives also attended the press conference.
