The Permanent Committee for Emergency (PCE) carried out an emergency mock drill named " Sea Eagle" on Wednesday February 8, 2012 at Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLIC) in collaboration with some state institutions in order to activate the command, control and communication systems between various state agencies involved and to measure its efficiency and level of training.
The head of the PEC and Director General of Public Security HE Staff Major General Saad bin Jassim Al Khulaifi and members of the Committee representing various ministries, authorities and institutions followed the exercise at National Command Center (NCC).
Engineer Abdul Aziz Al Ansari, Director of Industrial Security at Qatar Petroleum said that the objective of the drill was to reach into an ideal mechanism for dealing with emergency situations starting from receiving the communication and till full response to the issue. It will also measure the readiness of the concerned authorities in dealing with situations to enhance the positive aspects and monitor the negatives and avoid them until we achieve the best results, he said.
On his part, director of Operations Department at General Directorate of Civil Defence (GDCD) and secretary of the PEC Hamad Al-Duhaimy, said these type of exercises will help improving the performance on emergency situations and measuring the extent of cooperation and coordination between stakeholders and their readiness to deal with the various situations and scenarios.
