The first Ramadan football championship conducted for the staff of Abu Samra Border ended at the playground in the residential complex. The championship was organized by Permanent Committee for Abu Samra Border in association with Qatari Police Sports Federation with the participation of 6 teams.

Once the matches were over, the Permanent Committee team emerged as the winner while Land Customs Department finished second and Abu Samra Passports Section team third.

The closing ceremony was attended by the president of the Permanent Committee Lt. Col. Nasser bin Abdulla Ahmed Al Thani, the director of Land Customs Department Yousuf Ahmed Al Mia'dadi, the head of security section at the Committee Capt. Ali Rashid Al Mansoori, general convener of the Championship Lt. Adil Alawi Al Mahmood. The first, second and third place winners were awarded trophies and medals. The player of the Committee team Dhafir Al-Ahbabi and Customs Clearance team player Mohammed Mismah shared the shooter of the Championship award. Police Canine Section team player Salih Al-Shaiba was selected as the best player of the tournament.

The president of the Permanent Committee pointed out that the tournament was part of the initiative by the Committee to strengthen the spirit of brotherhood and competition among the staff to build strong relation between the employees of all departments and sections working at Abu Samra.
