The Community Policing section of Northern Security Department (NSD) paid a visit to Ras Laffan Industrial city on Monday 26/7/2010 aiming at promotion of cooperation between community policing section and workers and residents of the city, where thousands of foreign workers are concentrated. During the visit Community Policing Officer at NSD Lt. Abdul Hadi Hamad Al Marri and the legal expert of the Dept. Dr. Mohammed Al Ameen Abu Hajjar delivered lectures on "Security is a Joint Responsibility".

The lectures covered the concept of community policing, its foundation, mechanism of implementation, duties and task and its role in maintaining security and providing help for community members. They also explained the vital role played by community members in supporting and strengthening the efforts of security forces to combat crimes and ensure safety and security for various segments of the society. The lecturers also introduced about some important laws, its relation with society, the wisdom behind it, and the importance of compliance with the law in the best interest of individuals stressing the importance of obeying traffic law and road etiquette.

A number of department directors and section heads in Ras Laffan city appreciated the role of NSD in combating crimes and providing security services in easy and steady manner pointing out on cooperation with police force in order to strengthen their efforts to face any type of lawlessness.

Lt. Abdul Hadi Al Marri affirmed that various awareness plans are being implemented by the section in collaboration with several bodies and establishments to strengthen the relation between community police and community members in order to achieve the vision and goals put forth by Ministry of Interior.
