As part of 'Accident free summer campaign' organized by National Campaign for Road Accidents Prevention (NCRAP), various awareness programs are being conducted in different sports and youth clubs, community centers and shopping malls. First Warrant Officer Fahad Mubarak Shuraida and Sergeant Mohammed Yousef Al Maliki delivered awareness lectures at Barzan youth center recently.

Warrant Officer Fahad focused on the causes of accidents and explained how to avoid them. He also alarmed about the hazardous practices such as car racing on the streets and other wrongdoings by youth, which has fatal effect on the person himself, as well as the penalties imposed by law for such practices as of confiscating the car and referring the driver to the prosecutor for legal action against him in addition to the fine.
Shuraidah mentioned about overtaking by right side which is a behavioral mistake as well as traffic. He also explained penalties for wrongs side driving and red signal crossing.

Interactive sessions were held at Qatar centre for volunteer activities (QCFVA) and Doha youth centre recently. Warrant Officer Fahad Shuraida delivered lectures on traffic rules. A video film was shown featuring the importance of abiding by traffics rule and depicting the benefits of safety belt and risks of using mobile phone while driving. The Participants inquired on red signal crossing, obstructing traffic movement and else which were answered by the lecturer.

Further traffic contest for children will be held at Landmark shopping mall and Hayat Plaza on 29-30/7/2010 and 5-6/7/2010 respectively.
