Civil Defence held Graduation Ceremony

General Directorate of Civil Defense (GDCD) celebrated recently graduation of 65th batch of 13- weeks' firefighting foundation course that was attended by 35 trainees. The ceremony was held at Al Zabara Hall in the Civil Defence Centre of Wadi Al Sail area.

Brig. Aman Saad Al Sulaiti, Director of Operations Department Brig. Hamad Al Duhaimi, Director of Administrative Affairs Dept. Lt. Col. Fahad Al Kubaisi, Assistant Director of Operations Dept. Col. Jamal Al Ajmi, Assistant Director of Prevention Dept. Lt. Col. Ibrahim Al Muftah, Assistant Director of Administrative Affairs Maj. Mohammed Shahin, Assistant Director of Support Dept. Capt. Ahmed AlAbdulla, Capt. Ahmed Abdulla from Royal Guards and a number of officers from Civil Defense were present at the ceremony.

At the beginning, Maj. Mohammed Ahin delivered a speech where he explained that there were 35 trainee; 23 being from Operation Dept. of GDCD while 12 being from Royal Guards and 100% passed the course. He mentioned that the course was aimed at imparting basic knowledge and skills for firefighting, rescue and facing different types of accidents as well to improve the body fitness of the trainees.

The course consisted of theoretical lecturers and practical trainings in the field of firefighting using personal fire extinguishers and rescuing people from closed places and places of car accidents in addition to understanding the risks chemical items and poison gases and the way to get rid of it. The course also included training on advanced civil defense equipments in addition to 3-days session on first aid in cooperation with Red Crescent Qatar.

Maj. Mohammed Ahin appreciated the graduates and the efforts they spent during the course and wished the best in their assigned works. After that, Brig. Aman Saeed Al Sulaiti honored the top rankers. Corp. Hamad Ali Al Hajiri ranked first while Lance Corp. Nuhaiter Ali Al Shamri and warren officer Hamid Ali Al Abd came into second and third place. Constable Barman Abdulla Al Dousari won the Ideal Trainee title while Hamda Ali Al Hajiri was selected for his outstanding sports performance. Brig. Aman Sulaiti also distributed certificates and wishing them all the success, he encouraged them to work hard.
