The Civil Defense forces managed to put off two separate fires in Al Khaleej and Al-Mansoora Streets on Wednesday 26/5/2010 evening within a short time while no any injury or human loss were reported.

The first fire broke out in a air-conditioning and refrigeration shop located at Al Khaleej street near Gulf Paradise Hotel at 5:30 pm. It was extinguished in a short time with no serious financial losses.

The second fire broke out from an exhaust fan at the ground floor of one of the buildings in Al Mansoora area was extinguished at 7:30 pm before it spread out inside the building.

Director of operation department of the General Directorate of Civil Defense Brig. Hamad Nasser Al Dehaimi, in a special statement to the website of the Ministry of Interior said that both fires did not result in any fatalities or injuries, but some financial damages were therer. He pointed out that fire fighting teams' promptness in fighting the fire prevented it from spreading into two buildings.

Herewith the General Directorate of Civil Defense calls upon all the citizens and residents to ensure the switching off and plugging off all the electrical appliances and equipments on order to avoid fires resulted from the high temperature in the summer season.
