The Information Systems Department at Ministry of Interior installed a "Self Service Machine (SSM)" recently at Landmark mall in Doha. The initiative was taken palace as a part of the move of the ministry to ease the delivery of its services to different categories of the society including nationals and expatriates.

Through the SSM with the help of Qatari Smart ID Card, the public can inquire and complete the transactions 24 hours a day without reviewing at departments of the ministry during the official working hours.

Talking on the occasion, Director of Information Systems Department Brig. Salih Khamees Al Kubaisi said "The Self Service Machine is one of the important electronic services provided by the interior ministry for nationals and expatriates with the aim of easing the delivery of the services to them. In addition to currently offered services, the SSM will provide other new services in the future and the ministry has plan to widen the availability of the SSMs in more commercial centers in different parts of the country".

A SSM user can renew the residence permits for those who are on his personal sponsorship such as servants, drivers and babysitters . The PROs of companies also can renew the residence permits of its employees if they are authorized to complete this transaction. Beside of this service, the Qatari families can issue exit permit for those who are under the legal age, who need exit permit from their parents to get out of the country, added the Information Systems Department director.

Brig. Al Kubaisi also added that the payment of traffic fine, enquiry on traffic violations registered on SSM user, payment of a specified traffic fine or all fines recorded on the SSM user, renewal of airport E-gate Card for completing exit and entry procedures easily and swiftly, issuance of exit permit for expatriates who are on SSM user's personal sponsorship, such as servants, drivers and babysitters and issuance of exit permit for the company workers by the PRO if he is authorized to do so, are other services offered by the Self Service Machine at present.

On the occasion, a number of Qatari citizens and expatriates expressed their happiness in installing the Self Service Kiosk in the mall as it eased them the delivery of interior ministry's services with out wasting much time and efforts.
