Preparations for "3rd Sealine Communication Camp"

The Organizing Committee of "3rd Sealine Communication Camp" organized by Qatar's Ministry of Interior from Thursday, 11th February – Friday 20th February 2010, announced the completion of preparations for the third session of the camp in a press conference held in the traffic headquarters at Madina Khalifa district on Sunday, 7/2/2010 morning.

Col. Mubarak Rashid Al Noaimi, Head of traffic awareness section in the traffic department, Lt. Riyadh Ahmed Salih, Officer of National Campaign for Road Accidents Prevention and Abdul Azeez Bin Jassim Hajji, head of public programs in the Sehikh Eid Charity Organization attended the press conference.

Inaugurating the press conference, Col. Al Noaimi said "The communication camp is an annual educational and recreational event held in Sealine district opposite to Sealine beach resort with the aim of raising traffic safety and awareness among the visitors of the area during this season. The camp has attracted a huge number of visitors since it was commenced in 2008 and could to achieve communication with various segments of society including youths and families and we could to pass them information about the services rendered by the ministry of interior. The camp also could to spread traffic culture among the youth in a wide aspect ".

Mentioning to the reason for selecting the Sealine area for the camp, Al Noaimi pointed out that we are targeting a huge number of people including families and youths who will be available in this area during the spring season, which is school vocation period for children, and we can also reach out to a big number of youths available here very easily through out awareness and recreational programs.

"We have formed a team to spread traffic awareness among the children and another group especially for youths who will visit the camp. There will be bikes for riding free of coast for children and the traffic team available in the camp will give safety tips for them and parents before they ride it. In addition to this, the organizing committee has arranged special tents for families with play areas for children," said Lt. Riyadh Ahmed explaining the activities in the camp for the public.

About the participation of the National Campaign for Road Accidents Prevention, Lt. Riyadh added that the Campaign would present practical traffic awareness programs for the public through practical training cars for explaining the importance of using seatbelt while driving, electronic driving, traffic safety requirements, awareness dramas, educational contests for the public and explanation about the safety requirements for quad bikes.

In the 3rd Sealine Communication Camp, the visitors will witness many activities presented by different departments of the Ministry of Interior such as Traffic, Civil Defense, Coasts and Borders Security, Public Relations, South Security, Delinquency Police and Supply and Procurement Departments, Police Canine Section of Criminal Evidences and Information Department and Permanent Committee for Drugs Prevention.

Internal Security Force, Eid Charitable Organization, Ambulance Service of Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar Volleyball Federation, Qatar Police Sports Federation, Qatar Scientific Club, Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage, Qatar Centre for Volunteer Activity, Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services, Qatar National Olympic Committee, Ministry of Environment and Qatar Scout Federation are also taking part in this camp with their own pavilions. Each pavilion will exhibit their own items focusing on concerned fields.

The Qatar Scientific Club will exhibit its latest inventions including wireless planes, wireless cars, usage of solar power and wind power and also will educate the children the traffic rules using the wireless cars. In addition to this, the club's pavilion will conduct competitions for the children and will distribute prizes for the winners. The free cafeteria service is also available in the family tent in the camp.

The Internal Security Force will present different shows in front of the visitors to introduce the public the nature of its duties rendered for the protection of citizens and expatriates lives as well. The main attraction of the Lakhoya team will be the parachute gliders from the buildings and helicopters. The team also will exhibit karate shows, equestrian rides in addition to introducing the public the duties carried out by the search and rescue team of the Lekhoya.

The Sheikh Eid Charity will take part in the camp with pavilions of Eid Cultural Centre, Eid Social Centre, Ebadul Rahman Centre, Qatar Guest Centre and Media Centre of Eid Charity and will present four religious scholars in Thursdays and Fridays.
