The Coasts and Borders Security Department celebrated recently the convocation ceremony of the "Inner Waters Boat Captaincy Course". The course was conducted by the department for a selected group of staff, working in the Museum of Islamic Art for Hemya Security Services Company.
Inaugurating the graduation ceremony, Lt. Col. Nabeel Al Jamai said "The coast guard conducted this course as a part of the training and qualification program of the marine training centre under the Coasts and Borders Security Department for the staff of other establishments. This is the second time the department is organizing this course for a company after the course held for the staff of the PERAL Qatar and it was organized in the framework of cooperation between the department and the Hemaya Company to meet the security requirements".
On the occasion, Ibrahim Al Obaidaly from Hemaya Company also delivered a speech in which he hailed the great cooperation shown by the Coasts and Borders Security Department in organizing this course, which is very important for the personnel of the Hemaya company working at the marina of the Museum of Islamic Art. The theoretical and practical lessons received from the lecturers in the rescue operations and boat captaincy in the internal waters will help the trainees at a great level in carrying out their duties in the marina and also will make them capable of handling and responding to the accidents exposed to the visitors of the museum during their presence in the marina, said Al Obaidaly.
At the end of the program, the certificates were distributed for graduates and a show on the training programs held during the course was displayed.
