The Qatari Search and Rescue Team under the Internal Security Force (Lekhoya) left for Haiti on Thursday, 14/1/2010 morning boarding a C17 aircraft carrying medical and relief aids to the earthquake victims in Haiti.

The State of Qatar is sending this aid to Haiti in the framework of state's attempts to support and help all countries, especially those countries exposed for natural calamities.

The rescue ream will engage in rescue and search operations in Haiti for the victims of earthquake, which killed thousands of people and injured many citizens.

It is worth to quote here that the Search and Rescue Team has spent excellent relief efforts in previous years and possesses a long experience in rescue operations. The team has taken part in many rescue operations at various parts of the world.
