H. E. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Minister of State for Interior Affairs inaugurated the Security Exhibition, which has been organized by the Permanent Committee for Drugs and Alcohols Affairs to mark the World Drugs Prevention Day on Thursday, 25/6/2009 morning at Villagio Mall, Doha.

H. E. Nasser Al Humaidi, Minister of Social Affairs, Staff Major General. Saad Bin Jassim Al Khulaifi, Director General of Public Security and Chairman of the the Permanent Committee for Drugs and Alcohols Affairs, Directors of various departments under the ministry of interior, Abdul Azeez Muhammed Al Rabban, Chairman of the Villagio Mall, Dr. Ayidh Al Qarni and other officers and invited guests attended the program.

After the cutting the ribbon announcing the official inauguration of the exhibition, H. E. The Ministers and the guests toured at pavilions of different government and private organizations participating in the exhibition. Then, the guests watched a short film, which narrated the efforts of security personnel working in the field of drugs preventions and foiling the drugs smuggling operations.

After that, Dr. Ayidh Al Qarni, a well know Islamic scholar delivered a speech, in which he stressed on the necessity of enhancing cooperation between establishments and organizations in the fight against the dangers of the drugs that threat the society. The Islam strictly has prohibited drugs because it destructs the human brain, he also pointed out. He also urged all institutions of the society to work together for the prevention and spreading of the drugs among society members. 

At the end of the inauguration ceremony, H. E. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Minister of State for Interior Affairs honored Abdul Azeez Al Rabban, Chairman of Villagio Mall and Fahad Muhammed Al Muhannadi, Director General of the Kahruma with a memento for their excellent support extended to the ministry of interior.

On the sidelines of the ceremony talking to media, Director General of Public Security hailed different security agencies working for the prevention of the drugs and chasing the drug promoters and smugglers and appreciated the cooperation and coordination existing among different organizations in the country and also with other neighboring GCC countries.

He also stressed that the Ministry of Interior is keen and has been attempting to develop the methods of drugs prevention and the ways of fight against narcotics in order to succeed in the seizure operation overtaking the modern ways innovated by the drug traffickers.

It is worth to quote here that the Security Exhibition will continue for five days from today and comprises of religious speech, competitions, songs, recreational activities, free blood and sugar check up and free psychiatric consultations.
