State of Qatar represented by the Ministry of Interior for the 4th consequent year, won the first prize in the competition for producing security awareness documentary film for the year 2008 among all participating Arab countries and security agencies.

The contest with the participation of most Arab Countries around the world and organized by Security Media Office under the secretariat of Arab Interior Ministers council has been organized every year.

The wining film in the contest was selected on the side lines of the 32nd meeting of "Arab Police and Security Chiefs" held at Beirut, capital of Lebanon from 28-29/10/2008 in which the Qatari interior ministry's delegation was headed by Brig. Mubarak Farqj Dhawi and Col. Nasser Yousuf Al Mal and Lt. Col. Abdullah Saqr Al Muhannadi were other members of the delegation.

The meeting of Arab Police and Security Chiefs with the participation of Arab Police and Security Chiefs, Representatives of Arab League, Interpol and UN Office for combating crimes and drugs was organized to discuss about promoting Arab security efforts and enhancing the ways of cooperation among all Arab security agencies to support the security, stability and Arab joint security work.

Brig. Mubarak Farqj Dhawi received the first prize award memento and appreciation certificate from H.E. Dr. Muhammed Bin Ali Kooman , Secretary General of Arab Interior Ministers' Secretariat and Major General. Ashraf Reefi, Director General of Lebanon Internal Security Force.

On this occasion , Lt. Col. Abdullah Khalifa Al Muftah, Director of Public Relations Department said " The victory is result of keenness of Interior ministry represented by the Public Relations Department in participating actively in this annual contest organized by Security Media Office. We aim through the awareness programs by short documentary films at rooting security awareness and enhancing it among Arab citizens and we also aim at enriching the Arab Security Library by these purposive films". 

As this is not the first award for the department, The Public Relations at Ministry of Interior has won the special prize of the association if radios in Arabic countries in the international festival for the film on traffic safety at it's second session which was held in October 2001 under the patronage of Tunisian president Zainul Abideen Bin Ali, Best film award - 2002 in the field of awareness from the dangers of the drugs in the contest of secretariat general of Arab interior ministers council, 3rd prize for the year 2003 from the international festival for the programs of protecting from the road accidents, first prize from the 1st international festival for traffic awareness under United Nations and First prize of the years 2005 and 2006 for the films with the subject of " Terrorism". This film award is the 7th award winning by the ministry of Interior.

Definitely, this award will give a boost to the efforts and attempts of Ministry to spend more in all fields of awareness either it is related with drugs or traffic accidents, dangers of drugs or in the field of civil defense and this winning also gives an inspiration to continue the participation of Ministry in the field of purposeful contests.

The thesis f the award for this year's short documentary film comprised of "Enhancing security responsibility among youth, burglary and robbery and the ways of its prevention and cyber crimes, how to protect it and Ruins of road accidents and the ways of its prevention". 

Most of the Arab countries interior ministries and security awareness organizations participated in the contest while the Qatari interior ministry participated in three fields where were "Enhancing security responsibility among youth, Cyber crimes and Ruins of road accidents and the ways of its prevention". The Qatari ministry won the first prize for the thesis "Enhancing security responsibility among youth".

Usage of Arabic language, 1-1.5 minute length of film, suitability of the subject of the film to the though of Arab Society, technical specifications, clarity of the media message in the film, consistence of modern methods to grab the attraction of the public and usage of photography music in the film were the main aspects to win the film with the first prize.
